New to this site
Hi there,
First of all i would like to say lovely site, you guys seem to be very established in this sport.
The reason i am posting here is that my dad is into guns, Clay pigeon shooting and air rifles and i like guns myself too. so i thought why not
get into a new sport and i remember a friend of mine mentioning airsoft.
i have a couple of questions you guys might be able to answer.
1.How old do you have to be to take part? i am 18 myself.
2.Are there any licensed dealers in malta that sell airsoft Gear?
3.How much money should i be prepaired to spend on all the gear?
Thanks alot guys, hope you can help and maybe you will get yourself a new member

Re: New to this site
Hi Robert
Since you are 18 you have no problems. You have to be a member of a club in order to be able to purchase an AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun). There are a couple of shops that sell AEGs, namely Quantumshot in Paola and Surplus and Adventure in Mosta.
The amount of money you spend on airsoft depends on how much of a gear freak you are. I personally am a big one but to start off with all you need is good eye protection and some think clothes. Then from there you can build up gradually, getting the uniform, a vest, gloves, knee caps, etc. These you can buy locally or we can even give you some websites that have good items at a fraction of the local price.
The cost of the AEG depends on your tast. I think the cheapest locally would be circa EUR350, however again this depends on what model you want and how much accessories you put on it.
You can contact Avla who will help get you updated on the hows and whats. In the meantime we are setting up a session for Thursday at Ta Qali National Park. A post will be up as soon as all is confirmed. Then you can join us, have a look and maybe even have a try.
Let us know if you need any further information

+1 to all of the above.
Age shouldn't be a barrier - we have Bonavia who's about 10, and Mario who's pushing 70 at least
One thing you'll definitely need are safety (ballistic, not chemistry!) goggles - they're an absolute must in the playing area, even if you're not playing. Again, Avla would no doubt guide you as to where to get them etc. I have a spare pair I can lend you...but I might not be able to make it on thursday. Will keep you posted.
