I have been first aider in STM ERT team for 5 years, altough now I stopped and need recertification! Just a clarification, a first aider, as the name says to give the first aid until more qualified personell come, eg. if a guy injured his arm and blood is pouring out of his arm, you make him sit down, elevate his arm and apply pressure until a more qualified help comes. Let's say Chris is there and in an other team, or a least 200m away, you don't say, 'ahh leave him the Doc is coming' but start with basic FA and then handover to Doc.

Apart from Chris, which as he was telling me last time, he has a specialty(Emergency Response Team) in these kind of injuries, there is Pisani and John (sorry cannot remember what their actual job is) and Mario whi just qualified as St John FA. Others don't know!

Did my BFA course with the Paras in 2002-3 and with St. John's last year.
I never did master the elevation sling, but i can improvise
btw, I always bring a first aid kit with me and can (technically at least) handle pretty much anything up to and including a sucking chest wound.

good to know at least incase of an emergency we can manage to "stabilize" are take care in an efficent way who gets injured

Chris Deguara and Charles Pisani are Paramedics ( ghal min hu tuba m'ghandomx x'jaqsmu mal Paratroopers ) and John Debono is a Podologist.

That is as far as I know.

From my point of view I think we have enough First Aiders, now we have to concentrate on Second Aiders

mainly i asked cause i was thinking of taking a course or something when i have some spare time the mroe the better ux

so any suggestions where and what should i take if i manage to get some time is appriacted

If you can do it, do it, you can use it every where, home, road, family and friends, if it was me, I will do it compulsory at school !

i know some first aid basic, on shock treatment and bleeding control msotly but just basic's you never know what you mgiht need
