Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
Hello,
Before you start your search, first make sure what it takes to get a gun through customes, as this is a lengthy process, which sometimes take months! I think best to go for known brands such as classic army, Tokyo Marui, then choose your gun and see some reviews , youtube is very good.
Normally you need a metal gear box, gears held in place by bearings and not nylon bushes and so on. An other option are chinese clones which are cheap and have very good performance!
These things are a good thing to ask when we meet so we can explaine better.
Regards
Pierre

Personally i prefer classic army, others may prefer tokyo marui.
It all comes to choice really. Depends what type of guns you like, your budget, and maybe the handling.
Sometimes tokyo marui maybe cheaper then the classic army, but then tokyo marui is more metal then classic army, which tends to specialise in plastic.

As a matter of fact it is TM who specialise more in plastic bodies whilst CA's production line is totally metal bodies (except for the new sportline series from CA which have been reduced in price by changing the outer shells to plastic). I would go for metal gearbox with 7mm bearings instead of 6mm, preferably metal body, metal adjustable hop-up, 1 piece outer barrels, and most importantly a model which can be upgraded later and whose parts are compatible with CA and TM. A built in RIS such as picatinny would be good to have so that you can attach your inter-continental ballistic missile launcher onto your aeg ;-)

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
it also depends on what you want, for example i am looking for an L85/SA80 and the best shoot there is a Army Armament though there arent any outside upgrades nearly excpet for a SUSAT (still have to check if other sites fit but i think since it has a 20mm rail)and mostly due to the design of the gun, i like it
it has a plastic hop up and piston but since it is chinese made (and from what i read of great quility) it has a cheap price $120 excl shipping but then for the money you save CA $200+ you can get the upgrades for the hop up and piston since the rest is all metal
great site for reviews i found is this: http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/news2/ i suggest you register to the forum since some make also there reviews there, there are others but i think this is the best (or youtube if you dont like reading)

The SR-25 (Stoner Rifle-25) is a semi-automatic sniper rifle designed by Eugene Stoner and made by Knight's Armament Company. The SR-25 uses a rotating bolt and a direct impingement gas system. It is loosely based on Stoner's AR-10 (and therefore on the AR-15/M16), rebuilt in its original 7.62x51mm NATO caliber. Up to 60% of parts of the SR-25 are interchangeable with the AR15/M16 - everything but the receiver, the hammer, the barrel assembly and the carrier/bolt. SR-25 barrels were originally manufactured by Remington Arms with its famous 5R (5 grooves, rounded) rifling, with twist 1:11.25 (1 turn in 11.25" (286 mm)). The heavy 24" (609 mm) barrel is free-floating, so handguards are attached to the front of the receiver and do not touch the barrel.

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
that gun will have to be downgraded to a minimum of 350fps for cqb fights (at least for competition) and maybe even for legal matters
specs doesnt make the gun you have to look at what type of gearbox they have, i would suggest you look at tokyo murai guns since they are less expensive then classical army and good variety of parts
regarding the battery personally i would fit an 8.4 3600mah minimum for the aeg i get which will give the rifle more lifetime before recharge

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
Hello,
In our club we have a max FPS of 350, depending on BB weight ! I would suggest you to be patient a little bit before you buy anything, getting guns from abroad is not an easy task, you need licence and inport permits ! Also we soon will have JG guns and you can have a look at quality!
Are you sure TM guns are cheaper than CA ? From what I see and read CA has better finish as regards body but TM say they are more reliable!
Battery wise I use Nimh, 1400 mAh, as it's nimh I can charge it every time and come with a fresh battery, a bettery of 1400mAh shoots about 1400 BB, I bought 2 batteries but till now never had to change battery! On a normal game I never shot more than 800BB's. Altough a bigger battery is always better, it depends on what gun you get, mine only takes mini type. Also bigger bettery means more weight!

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
abroad su**s a bit with permits an stuff ... i thin its better to by a CA from malta ...as i think the price will be near that ...... as regarding to the battery, that doesn't worry me i can afford a pair of batteries...so when 1 is finish its welcome to the other .. lol
Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
ca has better body finish true but tm is more reliable from the msot reviews i read, JG doesnt really attract me that much seen some of there products and look really cheap
regarding the changing of the battery that is good if it is like an m4 type, having an l85 will be a bit more of a hassle since you have to unscrew the lower foregrip and it takes a while to put it back together at first XD

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
I personally chose classic army. The outer finish is top notch! trust me. am amazing. issa with regards to internals some say they aren't that good whilst others say that their newer series are problem free due to improved quality control systems in their production lines. Then there's always JG. which for the price are extremely worth it in my opinion. they come with reinforced metal gearboxes etc. before i got my CA i was interested in the JG version ofthe sig 552. Very nice gun and i dont think i actually ever read a bad review about it (and i read a lot of reviews )

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
well if you want a good m4 from ca since you are a beginner like me if it is possible to import the guns i would suggest you look at the ca sportline versions they come with the necassary to start the only difference is they use an abs body but it is as hard as the metal from what i read
anyway the real g36 is made out of "plastic" as well

Re: Aeg !! what must an AEG have to be good ??
nahhhh i'drather buy a CA then ...to be on pro's equipment .
IF i will buy that then i would replace it with a CA again , and i would have spend double of the ammount needed .
THx mate but i will go directly to CA.
